Special Post - Corporal Arthur George Bryant

S/8324 Corporal AG Bryant of the 10th Rifle Brigade.  He died 3/9/1916.

He died on this day and is buried at Bernafay Wood Cemetery on the Somme.

Although he is listed as Killed In Action, we now believe he Died of Wounds.  His body was listed as being found at the site oif Guillemont Road Cemetery (where several of his regiment who also died that day and were buried).
Given that he was initially buried at Bernafay Wood North cemetery (a casualty clearing station) and then moved to Bernafay Wood Cemetery expert advise confirms our suspicions that he was moved for treatment and then died either on the way, or at the casualty station.

I was lucky enough to be able to get to his grave earlier this year on my BBBR pilgrimage, this is the cross I laid, and the grave as it was that day.  The second cross is on behalf of Arthur's grandson Andrew - we discovered each other earlier this year.
